Warema, the expert for sun shading systems, and iconic skin, manufacturer of components for glass facades, have joined forces to develop an innovative product. The result is ISOshade®, an element for high-performance facades. The insulating glass unit consists of 3-fold insulating glass and spacing with a factory-integrated sun shading system. A range of product versions are available with external venetian blinds and vertical awnings by Warema.
The requirements for sun shading systems in a closed facade element are very specific. They differ greatly from the standard requirements for external sun shading systems in terms of exposure to high temperatures, the supply of dry air and increased service life. “With Warema, we now have an expert partner for ISOshade® sun shading systems”, says Heiko Mertel, Managing Director at iconic skin. “Warema is one of the few manufacturers on the market to provide comprehensive test certificates, in particular for the long-term and fogging tests that are so important to us – this high product quality is exactly what we need for ISOshade®.”
This innovative product shows exactly what it can do in glazing for residential, office and production buildings: The closed, self-conditioning spacing stops the factory-integrated sun shading system from being exposed to external factors such as wind or rain. This means it does not need to be cleaned; only the external motor has to be serviced. Slats or awnings can be moved regardless of weather conditions and wind noise is eliminated. ISOshade® even keeps noise levels to a minimum: The element has outstanding sound insulation properties, and even its standard version achieves all common noise protection specifications for residential, commercial and office buildings. The external venetian blinds also ensure optimal incident light control, while the model with vertical awnings creates a pleasant lighting atmosphere.
In March 2018, Warema presented an ISOshade® element at the Fensterbau Frontale trade show in Nuremberg as a collaborative partner of iconic skin. To give visitors a realistic impression of the new product, the window was back-lit to make them feel as though they were looking out from inside a building.
