The architectural trend for large window openings and doorways continues unabated. Warema has developed a side roller blind for convenient protection against insects with lift and slide doors and folding doors that meets all functionality and design requirements.
With the GrandSlide, Warema is expanding its insect screen range to include a side roller blind solution for large glass surfaces. The side roller blind moves horizontally along upper and lower guide rails and remains in a specific position thanks to a sophisticated pull system. This means that the opening can always be locked in the desired position with the insect screen. The roller blind can be easily moved by hand using the lightweight handle rail.
The VisionAir maxi gauze has been specially designed for the GrandSlide, rolling up like a blind when retracted. It is made up of a tightly woven, vinyl-coated polyester mesh with extremely high tensile strength, is weather-proof and offers a good view out. When retracted, it completely disappears into a powder-coated aluminium cassette, protecting it from wind and dust. Another advantage is that, with lift and slide doors for example, it offers an unimpeded view through the entire width of the element when retracted – unlike sash frames, which are parked in front of the fixed element.
The GrandSlide can be installed on the outside or on the inside with glass folding walls, for example. With a maximum width of 2,500 mm and a height of up to 2,800 mm, it can cover an area of around 7 square metres. The insect screen side roller blind can also be installed for particularly large surfaces using two-wing systems without centre poles. This allows openings with a width of up to 5,000 mm to be protected against insects, extending the surface to 14 square metres.
The cassette, guide rail and kick profile are available with powder coating in all Warema colours or in an optional anodised version. The cassette and upper guide rail can also be embedded in plaster.
