The two Arula chalets are a stylish addition to Lech’s architecture and fulfil the district’s stringent building guidelines. They were constructed largely from natural materials and consist of around 90% stone, waste wood and textiles. The architect, Sibylle Schaschl, focused on highlighting traditional craftsmanship. This is particularly evident in the natural stone facade, the wooden stairs and the design of the furniture. In this part of the world, Alpine charm goes hand in hand with urban comfort

The chalets have several wonderful spots for guests to hide away where stunning views meet natural experiences and peace and quiet. For example, the terrace between the two buildings is the perfect outdoor space to enjoy panoramic views of Lech’s mountains. This outdoor lounge has the same luxurious decor as the chalets along with a Warema slat roof that provides smart protection from the sun and rain.

A Lamaxa L 70 slat roof measuring 4.5 x 5.675 m was installed in December 2018, the perfect fit for the space. When closed, this upmarket roof system can reliably bear up to 50 kg snow per square metre, making it ideal for winter weather. This is one of the main reasons why the building planners opted for the smart Lamaxa roof. Its linear, purist design also blends in perfectly with the architecture.

Depending on the weather and their personal preferences, chalet guests can operate the movable slats via WMS radio remote control. The L70 model can even be extended or retracted, making it possible to open the roof almost completely. When it rains, the slats divert the water so that guests can stay comfortable and dry as they take in the view. Guests can enjoy the sun however they wish and transition smoothly from the indoor space to the stylish outdoor setup, creating favourite spots that protect against the cold, wind and rain.

Lamaxa slat roofs can be installed in any outdoor space. Options include the Lamaxa Free range, a series-mounted unit, a star system, a free-standing slat roof, a slat roof attached to a house, slat roofs with and without sliding elements, and much more. Extras such as radiant heaters and individually dimmable LED strips create a cosy feel and atmospheric lighting.
