This doesn’t just apply to fire situations; they are also important in preventing panic during power failures. Requirements for emergency routes are increasing all the time, increasing the requirements for sun shading systems too. Different regulations and guidelines may apply depending on the region or federal state. The SecuKit safety feature for external venetian blinds is intuitive and straightforward: in an emergency, the external blind is simply raised by hand. The end rails lock at a predefined height laterally in the guide rails. Even with motorised external venetian blinds, the emergency route is freed up in seconds independent of the power supply – and this includes the route into the building for the emergency services. Temporary manual operation does not affect the use of the motor. It can be quickly reset by performing a control run of the external venetian blinds in the upper end position and then the lower end position; preconfigured settings remain unchanged. SecuKit can be used with blind widths of up to 2100 mm.

SecuKit has many specific benefits: SecuKit for external venetian blinds does not require any additional planning or installation and is integrated into the facade inconspicuously. There is also no need for a facade feed through, preventing thermal bridges. SecuKit can be retrofitted easily at any time: the blinds with inlays are simply swapped or replacement wedges are retrofitted – the guide rails do not need to be exchanged, making this an ideal solution for renovations too.

Tried-and-tested solution for roller shutters and window awnings

Warema roller shutters and window awnings with SecuKit come with a motorised drive and are operated via an intelligent control system. Their most appealing feature is the additional belt operation option for emergency situations: in the event of power failure, the lowered blind can be pulled up in just a few movements, clearing the emergency route immediately. Temporary use of the belt does not affect the motor system and all settings are retained. Even indoors, the belt fastening system remains unobtrusive as no additional belt winder is required. The sun shading system’s movement behaviour remains the same even if SecuKit is installed, ensuring that it blends into the facade and all sun shading products can be raised and lowered in the same way. SecuKit can be used for surfaces of up to five square metres for roller shutters and up to seven square metres for window awnings.
