More than 1,000 square metres, 5 seminar rooms and 4 learning zones: from May, the new Sun Academy in Wertheim will turn learning into an experience for all Warema partner companies. Its open concept provides comprehensive information on Warema products and their installation, commissioning and maintenance in a practical manner that reflects real-life scenarios. With both digital and in-person training, it aligns perfectly with partners’ needs and prepares them for all technical and economic developments.

Sun shading products on facades, balconies and patios have many advantages: they prevent rooms from heating up, use smart technology to direct daylight inside buildings without glare, and create attractive outdoor spaces that make us feel good. But sun shading is also a technically demanding trade that presents specialised retailers with new challenges all the time.

Warema, the sun shading specialist, offers high-quality products and supports retailers with a range of services not found anywhere else on the market. The new Sun Academy at Warema’s location in Wertheim is another milestone for the company, imparting comprehensive expertise in numerous training courses.

Qualification: a factor for success
Warema has always placed great value on the qualifications of its partners, even before skills shortages became a problem. Truly mastering a product and everything it offers is a classic win-win situation: specialised retailers can inspire end customers with the aesthetics and versatility of Warema solutions while positioning themselves as sun shading experts.

For years now, Warema has optimised the qualifications of its partners with extensive training, both online and at various locations. The new Sun Academy in Wertheim is a world dedicated to training in product knowledge, installation, control technology and service skills. Warema also offers further training exclusively for Prime Partners on topics such as digitalisation, business knowledge, sales and the Warema skilled workers campaign.

Platform for in-person and digital learning
The Sun Academy in Wertheim now has around 1,300 square metres of training space. Various installation scenarios with sun shading products are arranged in a modular system. These are divided into four learning zones with a range of house concepts, allowing participants to experience and learn all about shading solutions for window and facade systems, outdoor living, smart control products and all maintenance and service topics. The state-of-the-art training teaches professional technicians and salespeople the details and tricks of installation and maintenance as well as the entire spectrum of sun shading services.

One feature worth mentioning is that the products used for training purposes are stored in modern, ergonomic and easily accessible systems. This allows them to be used flexibly in different realistic training situations. The installation scenario can be quickly altered depending on the training topic. Mobile installation frameworks and installation tables can be adapted to the training in question. Alongside the training space, which can host up to three training sessions at a time, there are five additional seminar rooms. There are also various quiet areas for a relaxing break or personal chat. Together, these features ensure great flexibility when designing training sessions.

These days, lifelong learning is an increasingly digital endeavour. This is why the Sun Academy training concept is so versatile. Warema offers in-person training on 47 topics, around 60 webinars and regularly makes topical videos – 145 at the moment – that are available to Warema partners 24/7 in German, English, French and sometimes in Dutch.

Warema is constantly working on further training topics and web-based formats (WBT). This creates a balanced mix of digital content and in-person training, ensuring the Sun Academy is ideally positioned for the future.

Experienced training team
Armin Fischer manages the team of seven highly motivated trainers, all professionals in the field. Whether the topic is installation, sales, control technology or product knowledge, they bring their specialist skills to the table and allocate the training topics in accordance with their expertise. They are constantly exchanging knowledge within the team and with the experts from the specialist departments, working together to impart relevant knowledge. Their colleagues in the back office spend their days ensuring that the training goes smoothly.

With the interdisciplinary Sun Academy, Warema wants to offer its customers qualifications that will boost their expertise and competitive advantage – and support them as they fight to attract skilled workers as an expert employer.
