Omnexo is a sun shading control system for use in residential and functional buildings such as kindergartens, schools and office buildings as well as in hospitals and industrial buildings. It uses web technology and can be commissioned and operated using any browser-enabled device. The heart of the system is a central control unit with a width of just four modules in the distribution box; this controls the sun shading components via actuators in combination with a weather station.

New to Omnexo are floating actuators that enable lights and other power consumers to be controlled in addition to the sun shading drives. A 24-volt DC actuator has also been developed that enables simple integration of indoor sun shading systems. Thanks to the flexible inputs on the Universal Interface, conventional sensors – for example for wind and temperature – can be easily connected, as can conventional (venetian blind) pushbuttons. Installation has also been simplified for larger properties with multiple users: data from the Weather station pro and Weather station move can now be processed simultaneously by multiple Omnexo systems.

Simplified commissioning

There has been a great deal of investment in developing intelligent software that allows the system to be set up using an app on a computer or tablet while ensuring functional reliability. The user-friendly interface has a special rapid commissioning function. All preparations can be completed beforehand in the office without the need to connect to the central unit. Updates can also be performed quickly and conveniently at the touch of a button. The Omnexo user interface has received the PLUS X Award, the world’s biggest innovation award for technology, sport & lifestyle, in the Design, Ease of Use and Functionality categories.

All products parameterised individually

With the intuitive control system, each product can be parameterised individually without being assigned to facade sections in advance. Standard values are predefined. An intelligent plausibility check ensures that settings are configured without errors. Omnexo allows up to 500 sun shading products to be controlled individually (or 3000 products in groups) and connected flexibly with control modes. These control modes are located in the central unit and can be used at any time, even without cloud access.

Hardware components for every installation situation

The Omnexo central control unit can be rail-mounted for the electrical cabinet. The sensors can be mounted on the roof or facade and the actuators can be installed in various ways – for example, they can be surface-mounted, flush-mounted or rail-mounted. This makes it much easier to plan and install the sun shading system.

The sun shading is also easy and intuitive to operate using a tablet, PC or conventional (venetian blind) push button. Settings can be changed and updates performed via a convenient network connection.

The Weather station pro is a compact combi weather station with the latest sensor technology for measuring wind speed and direction via ultrasound and optical precipitation recording. It has no moving parts that would be susceptible to wear and tear, ensuring reliable operation. Warema offers another variant, the Weather station move, which records the outside temperature, brightness and dawn/dusk in addition to wind speed and precipitation.

Greater convenience and safety for users

Combined with one of the two weather stations, this offers a high degree of comfort and security: wind and precipitation monitoring protects the awnings and external venetian blinds against bad weather, while ingenious slat tracking constantly changes the slat angle to maximise natural daylight while protecting against disruptive glare.
