In the 2019 fiscal year, the Warema Group and its two divisions – Sun & Living Spaces and Plastics & Engineering – created a solid foundation that will allow it to remain a reliable and strong customer partner in the future. Globally, it achieved sales of 571 million euros, an increase of more than 12 percent. Development focused on strategic expansions and sustainable developments.
Strengthening the group's market presence is pivotal in this context. By acquiring Anwis, the Polish sun shading manufacturer, the Warema Group aims to increase its market position in Eastern Europe. Anwis has been an expert in external and internal sun shading systems since 1979 and is already well-established in the Polish and Eastern European market.
As a result of this expansion, the Warema Group's Sun & Living Spaces division now includes four more brands – Caravita, Exterra, Wings Professional and Anwis – in addition to the core Warema brand. Its service portfolio is versatile and ranges from sun and weather protection to designing individual living spaces.
New location in Wertheim Bettingen
In addition to expanding the brand network, the company is adding new premises near its headquarters. The foundations for a new showroom and a production and logistics centre have been laid at the Hymerring in Wertheim Bettingen, creating over 300 new jobs in total.
These new sites will meet the increased demand for production space and allow the company to keep up with the expansion in capacity. Relocating the logistics department to Wertheim is a clever move because Wertheim has a direct motorway connection and is close to the company headquarters, ensuring optimised delivery times. The showroom will also be used to present sophisticated sun shading solutions and innovative outdoor living products to end customers.
Further advances in digitalisation
With its new locations, the Warema Group continues to implement its strategy of consistently optimising work processes and boldly exploring new working methods. The site at Dillberg near Marktheidenfeld, which has been in use since 2019, also employs agile working structures and innovative room concepts. This creates not only space to work, but also freedom to think – ideal conditions for developing new products and solutions that will allow the Warema Group to react even faster to new trends, industry developments and customer requirements.
CEO Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke emphasises that: "The coronavirus pandemic is profoundly affecting our private and economic lives and presenting challenges for the Warema Group as well. Nevertheless, our good results over the past years and our company’s solid financial situation and sustainable orientation mean that the outlook remains positive for the 2020 fiscal year."
