Warema KNX secure actuators are a key component in the automation of office/single-purpose buildings based on the KNX communication standard. These actuators can be used for the intelligent control of sun shading products while guaranteeing maximum security, as they support KNX Secure encryption technology. These actuators simplify electrical work with their innovative development features. Up and running quickly and securely

With numerous new functions, Warema KNX secure actuators are now even easier to use. Pre-defined external venetian blind types and communication via 3-byte objects speed up and simply the commissioning process for Warema KNX devices.

The new functions are also beneficial when using actuators. Different priorities can be set for automation and security functions, and diagnostic functions make it easier to search for sources of errors. In addition, Warema KNX secure actuators now offer integrated slat tracking and sun position calculation, active support for heating/cooling mode and integrated sensor data evaluation for comfort and safety control modes. Electricians can use the convenient, free app to check that the motors and inputs are connected via Bluetooth and document this in the app.

The KNX secure 1M230.4I UP actuator can be used to control 230 V sun shading drives with the same benefits and functions as the KNX secure range. The UP actuator offers four integrated binary inputs for connecting standard push buttons and dimmer switches.

New weather station – intelligent and secure

Warema rounds off its KNX range with a newly developed KNX secure weather station pro. This records the outside temperature, wind speed and direction, brightness and dawn/dusk, rainfall and the position of the sun. The wind speed is detected by innovative ultrasound sensors, while rain and snow are measured by optical sensors, eliminating the need for moving parts that are susceptible to wear and tear. An integrated GPS sensor precisely determines positions and accurately transmits the date and time to the central control unit.

This data is sent to the intelligent bus system, which compares it with defined limit values and regulates the sun shading as required. Specific functions such as sun control can be implemented via sun shading and security channels – even slat tracking and wind alarms can be implemented if required. Another advantage is that the KNX secure weather station pro can be updated via the KNX bus line.

The KNX secure weather station pro is made up of two components: a weather station pro and a KNX secure Sensor Interface as an AP or REG variant. The weather station records precise weather data and is separated from the actual device participant in the KNX network, making revision easier. The weather data is evaluated and the control mode functions are implemented in the Sensor Interface. The optional Plug-in Protect overvoltage protection protects the on-site bus system against overvoltage and can be plugged into the device without any major installation work.

Boosting energy efficiency with intelligent technologies

Annual shading can be implemented simply and securely with KNX solutions from Warema. Annual shading precisely calculates the shadows cast by neighbouring buildings for each window area at all times of day and year. Intelligent slat tracking adjusts the slat angle as the position of the sun changes and maximises daylight entry while minimising glare. Cooling load is reduced, as is the need for artificial light, making the building more energy efficient.

External sun shading is an effective way of stopping buildings from overheating – an effect optimised by intelligent automation. Whether in a renovated or new building, intelligent sun shading is crucial in reducing the CO2 emissions of buildings.
